Only two weeks to go…the last 50 km!

After a super weekend in the Barcelona marathon expo promoting my June Running Camp, I ran the marathon on Sunday as part of my training schedule. I ran with Oz, Jordi, and Javi – it went exceedingly well and was a fun way to finish my heaviest training week.

On Monday I gave a talk for about 70 executives in Girona for Axxon, which also turned out to be a great success.

Between talks, conferences, the June running camp, training and logistical preparation for my April the 13th London challenge, I haven’t had much free time…but everything is going according to plan and I’m delighted with the results.

Next week I’ll taper my training even more and I’ll begin to really rest so that in two weeks I’ll be ready and fully re-charged to give it my all in the NSC at Crystal Palace for my challenge. On Monday I’ll post all the details of this new adventure. For now you can read about it here on the In Focus page.

Now it’s 4.15 am and I’ve just woken Frank up so he can drive me out to Tossa to pick up Fede and Quim who will be joining me for the first kms of my last medium-long training run of 50 kms!

Be Excellent!

A Unique Running Camp!

After a few very tough weeks due to the flu, high training levels, exhaustion and a huge amount of work on my coming projects, we are finally ready to present our new Running Camp which will take place in Zagorahoria, Greece this coming June. I’ll be in the Barcelona Marathon Expo today and tomorrow presenting it in stands 46 and 47 of BUSSETUS and PIES CÓMODOS in the Trail area.

This camp is unique in many ways – it’s location, the training session, and the content of the theoretical session.

Zagorahoria is in one of Greece’s national parks; its one on the most breathtakingly beautiful places I have visited, and I’ve visited quite a few. We will be based in Papingo one of the wonderful stone villages of the area. It is the perfect place to train, relax, assimilate new information, develop further as an individual and in a group, and to enjoy.

The hotel which is a collection of traditional stone houses is a true gem; luxurious while maintaining the traditional style – the hotel, the people and the food prove that the hospitality that made the Greeks famous is still alive and thriving.

The content of the theoretical sessions cannot be found anywhere else. It will help participants develop as runners, as individuals, and will help them to continue enjoying sports without injuries or disappointments for years to come. All will leave more inspired, more motivated and more enriched than ever!

The training sessions will all be guided for various levels and will all be through breathtaking scenery – making for an unforgettable trip.

One step more!

An Unexpected Struggle

My 76 kms today were brutally tough. Apart from the Fede & Quim’s great company at the beginning, it was a terribly difficult training.

I felt exhausted from early on, probably due to the tough week I’ve had, and to make things worse, after arriving in Lloret, I was faced with a ferocious head wind, against which I had to battle all the way home. I had to use all of my mental tools to finish the run successfully, and for tat I’m delighted. It’s one of the runs that will help me most in having completed it.
